Saara Pekkarinen is Assistant Professor at Oulu Business School, University of Oulu in Finland where she also received her Ph. D. in 2005 in Economics. She is the responsible Project Leader of the ModSeC, the international project “How modularity enables the development of new innovative business services?”. She has a long experience as a researcher in the national projects in the field of transportation and logistics. Her current research interests focus on service operation management and marketing (modularity in business services, value co-creation, knowledge sharing and collaborative business relationships, service development and design) as well as on transport economics and logistics, especially on logistics service providers’ perspective. She has published e.g. in International Journal of Logistics Management, International Journal of Logistics: Research and Applications, and International Journal of Services Operations Management.
