Q&A

What is Runway-to-Growth method?

Answer: Runway to Growth is a workshop method, where during one R2G Day, typically six venture teams rotate among thematic workshop teams of service providers (such as marketing, finance, ICT etc.). In short, 30-45 min sessions the venture teams and workshop hosts discuss and co-create solutions to topics brought up by the venture team; as a result, the venture team has a deeper and more holistic understanding of how to develop their business further.

EBRF 2011 utilizes the R2G method in the ecosystem exercise in an applied version: the academic "knowledge teams" are paired with "ecosystem teams" and they work together throughout the exercise. Together, the teams focus on the topic of their ecosystem and jointly aim at bringing new solutions to the table.

What is a Live Case exercise?

Answer: In a Live Case exercise, the participants – in this case, researchers, entrepreneurs, executives, policy makers, students... – work together to come up with new solutions to a real business problem. At EBRF 2011, the "problems worth solving" that the teams aim to tackle relate to either existing or about-to-be-born organisations, ventures or entities.

What are knowledge teams?

Answer: Knowledge teams are made up of the academic participants of the conference. In the ecosystem exercise of EBRF 2011, the researchers are grouped up in six cross-scientific teams, one for each ecosystem exercise topic (e.g. ICT, Health or Capital). Together with the ecosystem team and the playmaker of the exercise, they co-create solutions that aim at enabling research, ventures and policies.

What are ecosystem teams?

Answer: Ecosystem teams comprise entrepreneurs, executives and policy makers who are attending the conference. Each ecosystem team focuses on one of the ecosystem exercise topics, e.g. Energy or Education.
