THE CONFERENCE
Dress code The dress code for the conference and the evening events is business casual.
Language The official language of the EBRF conference is English.
Liability and insurance Please check the validity of your own insurance. The conference organisers cannot accept liability for personal injuries sustained or loss of, or damage to, property belonging to conference delegates (or their accompanying persons) either during or as a result of the conference.
Scholarships and grants Unfortunately no financial support can be offered to the participants nor can the conference fee be waived.
USEFUL TO KNOW
Electricity The electrical current in Finland is 220 V (50 Hz). Plugs and sockets are of the same type as in the continental countries of the EU. If your equipment requires a different voltage, an electrical transformer will be needed.
Medical care Medical care in Finland is of a high standard. Please contact the staff at the information desk if you need the services of health or dental clinics.
Money Banks: Finnish banks are open at least from 9.00 to 16.00 on weekdays. The currency in Finland is Euro. Credit cards are widely accepted in Finland. Cash from the wall: There are many cash machines (OTTO in Finnish) where you can draw out money with your credit card.
Smoking policy Smoking is not allowed indoors in public places, e.g. congress buildings, banks, department stores, public transport, etc. There may be detached areas in restaurants where smoking is allowed. Participants who wish to smoke will need to do so outside the buildings.
Time zone City of Jyväskylä is two hours ahead of GMT and one hour ahead of Central European time.
Tipping Tipping is not customary in Finland. Service charges are included in prices.
Water In Finland tap water is of high quality and safe to drink.
