Global Academic Cup
There is a growing need for research and business co-creation in a local and global environment. The EBRF Board has decided to develop new incentives to inspire border-crossing research work that results in new ventures being created. This initiative is to be regarded as an exploratory first attempt to develop an embryo to something that can become much bigger in the coming years.
N.N. (tba) has recognized the value of this initiative and has agreed to fund the first Global Academic Cup*, which hereby bears the name N.N. Global Academic Cup. The winner of the first cup will receive a 10.000 euro award to kick-start the project initiative.
The Participants
Any researcher, who is named as author or co-author, in an abstract submitted to the EBRF conference has the right to take part in this competition by either submitting an own proposal or as initiator assemble a separate Global Academic Cup research team. The additional members do not need to be preapproved.
The Jury
The initiatives will be reviewed by an assigned jury, all as will decided by the EBRF Board.
Submission
The initiatives should be submitted in any customarily readable format, via email, to the Conference Chair of EBRF 2010, at marko.seppa@econ.jyu.fi. The name(s) of the Participants, Initiator and additional member names should be disclosed already in the cover (email) letter, along with the proposed project name.
The Award
The award is €10.000 to be used by the receiver(s) primarily to implement the plan that they have submitted, all subject to separately established conditions.
Criteria for a good Initiative
A good project initiative can be recognized by the following characteristics: - It should reflect a global mindset. Usually ideas have a local origin and are developed locally where they were initiated. We are looking for ideas that from inception take a global perspective and preferably aim for a global opportunity. - It demonstrates the power of co-ownership, team-work and co-creation - It is unique. The proposal should be innovative and preferably really unique. - It should be reliable that the project will be (can be) implemented. - It is preferable if it could result in a new venture being eventually created. - It should be attractive enough for resource providers to want to participate with additional resources. - It is offered for presentation at the EBRF 2010 Conference.
Après
Several resource providers will be present when the winner is announced. The intention is to be able to multiply the resources available to the winning project already at the award occasion. It can also be expected that the attention the winning proposal receives can attract further interested parties who find the proposal interesting.
